KEY FEATURES

Yeti XL Monster Truck

Brushless Power - The electric power on the Yeti XL is provided by Castle Creations 2200 KV  4-pole brushless motor. The motor delivers good power and torque and is a great application for this monster truck from axial.
The motor is designed specifically for delivering huge power performance for big, heavy 4WD machines.
The motor and Vanguard AE-4XL ESC are waterproof for those that enjoy a wet off-road RC experience whether it be mud, snow, or water.
The system requires the recommended 4s or 6s LiPo batteries.
Drive Train and Components -
Transmission- The all metal transmission on the Yeti XL is a good example of why you want metal in places of the utmost importance. The design is specifically suited for the Yeti chassis, along with metal gears in both the front and rear differentials.
The transmission also has ball bearings throughout, the gearbox comes as a single speed with a high gear installed for high speed action. Endless gearing options are available with the variety of movement with the integrated motor mount.
Dual Slipper Clutch -Aluminum pads on both sides of the spur gear provide a precise amount of slip for good performance, while durability is maintained with its resistance to heat.
The 32 pitch spur gear is metal and capable of handling high torque applications.
Chassis Braces -The integrated upper and lower braces are made of aluminum and add durability and stiffness to the model with the anticipated extreme off-road terrain.
Suspension - The Yeti XL features an independent front suspension, and an industry first 1/8 scale solid rear axle, designed to handle the stability at higher speeds, when encountering various degrees of off -road terrain.
The IFS system assists drivers with control, and the desired direction of travel, when one side is counteracting to overcome off-road obstacles.
Big Bore Shocks - The large 20 mm aluminum shock bodies are utilized to control the suspension, with 16 mm pistons housed inside the shock bodies and 4mm shafts to maintain stability when driving through multiple ranges of off-road terrain.

Water Resistant Servo - The steering servo on board the Yeti is a metal gear servo delivering 151 oz in. of torque with precise and smooth movement in large part due to the dual ball bearings combining with the metal gear setup.
Huge Ground Clearance - Designed for the ultimate in rock crawling., amazing ground clearance is achieved in part by the large tires and wheels mounted on the rc vehicle.
The 3.8 raceline wheels are a popular choice for extreme off-roading, and are proven performers that can take some demanding abuse.
The wheels give the monster truck an authentic look with the durability to handle whatever comes their way, these wheels are definitely built for bashing.
Now for the tires, in the real life off- road world  the B.F. Goodrich Krawler tires are winners of more rock crawling championships than all tires combined.
Axial's version of this tire sports an aggressive look, with awesome performance on multiple surfaces, the high level of diversity and performance is a perfect fit for the off road monster..

Comments from Drivers of the Yeti
The Yeti XL lives up to its name, it is large, huge actually, for the price, you are getting what you pay for, loaded with features.
Larger than I anticipated, this thing has some serious power
Most satisfying RC vehicle I have ever owned after 6 yrs in the hobby. A handful on 6s, 4s seems to be the sweetspot for power and handling. very well built, can handle some serious off roading with impressive speed.
Very disappointed with the Yeti XL, reviews made it out to be a beast, made 5 minutes of driving and broke, have nothing but problems with it.  ( He may have got a lemon, most reviews on this model are positive for the most part).
One of the coolest looking RC's on the market, durable thrasher that can go about anywhere you point it.
Don't let the price scare you away, this buggy will put a smile on your face. I launched it off a little 4 x 4 piece of plywood jump with a little bend in it and it flew over my head and went 30 ft and landed perfect, my buddy stopped and said he wasn't going to jump anymore until he got one for himself.

PRO'S
Brushless motor
Plenty of Power and Torque
Good Speed for a model its size
Huge Stance with good ground clearance
Large Aluminum Shocks
Loaded with features
Serious Rock Crawler

CON'S
Expensive
Hard to handle on 6s ( manageable on 4s though)

Closing Thoughts
The Yeti XL is definitely suited for extreme off-road crawling, jumping and bashing, with plenty of power to boot, almost to much on 6s. I have only touched on a few of the features in this overview of the model.
