KEY FEATURES
Losi Mini Eight T RC Buggy |
Losi Mini Eight T
AVC Technology- To handle the power of the brushless 4500 KV motor, Losi implemented the AVC (Active Vehicle Control) system, for precise handling, that keeps the Losi Mini Eight on track.
The AVC system manages steering and throttle features, allowing drivers to experience the full potential of their R/C vehicle.
The AVC system allows you to make sudden adjustments while maneuvering around objects without backing off on the power. It diagnosis's control inputs, senses your models direction, to hold your line, without any lag in responding. On rough or rugged terrain, maintaining control can be challenging, the AVC system makes sure that throttle and steering are precisely managed to keep you headed in the desired direction.
Throttle assist adjusts power to keep the rear in line with your heading
Steering assist keeps your front wheels aimed in the right direction, while being bounced around on uneven surfaces.
If you are attempting to nail big jumps over ramps, the AVC system will keep your model positioned on dead center no matter your speed, you just simply line up and mash the throttle.
Brushless Power - The 280 size dynamite 4500 KV brushless motor was designed and built to provide an ample amount of power for the 4WD drivetrain featured on the losi mini eight, the motor requires minimal maintenance while providing plenty of high speed action.
Cells 6C NiMH and 2-3s LiPo batteries. Turning out 33,300 Rpm.
Controlling the power is the dynamite brushless ESC (Electronic Speed Control) which by the way is waterproof.
The dynamite ESC features a built-in cutoff, with auto cell detection and is also compatible with NiMH and 2s to 3s LiPo batteries.

Aluminum Chassis and Drivetrain Components - The platform for the Losi Mini Eight T is made of aluminum making it lightweight yet durable.
Complimenting the chassis is the 4WD shaft-driven drivetrain with front and rear differentials housing metal
gears, while aluminum shock towers and threaded oil-filled shocks are found on all four corners, with adjustable turnbuckles rounding out the support.
The motor is held with a lightweight aluminum motor mount.
Handling the turning is a chassis mounted mini servo.
Note : Have heard from and read reviews from many drivers who say that the ball ends pop off quite regularly, reported that is by design according to some to keep from breaking parts, they are designed to pop-off before inflicting further damage. I understand how that can become discouraging.
It's sleek design is comfortable in your hand for those extended driving periods.
The limited throttle feature is ideal for training or beginners who may have never driven an r/c vehicle before.
The transmitter is capable of servo reversing as well
Enhanced AVC Receiver - The SRS 4200 receiver with AVC included allows you to get the most out of the models 4WD feature, including brushless power.
You will enjoy the extended range free from interference for worry-free driving.
Comments from Losi Mini Eight T owners
Fast ! Waterproof so we can use it in the winter months. Stable, handles turns and corners well. More durable than I expected.
Well built Buggy. Stock NiMH battery doesn't perform as well. Suggest running 2s or 3s batteries for better performance.
Buy the RPM bumper ! a good investment to protect equipment ......learned from prior experience...buy a heat sink ....motor does get warm.
This Truggy is good out of the box, but can be upgraded to perform at a higher level.
At the skate park it performed well, hitting jumps with ease, shocks are a bit soft, bottoms out a bit on bigger jumps. The charger it comes with is cheap, doesn't let you know when the battery has full charge.
ADVANTAGES
Fast on 2s or 3s LiPo
Great for a beginner Limited throttle feature
AVC (Active Vehicle Control) System
Handling and turning characteristics are good, stable with its wide stance
Performs well while jumping over earthen or man made ramps.
Waterproof Electronics can handle wet environments
Parts and upgrades readily available
Ready to Run with everything included
DISADVANTAGES
Doesn't perform as well on grass
Lacks performance on NiMH battery
Final Thoughts
The Losi Mini Eight T has a number of strong points that make it a good choice for many, when it comes right down to it, it all depends on what a R/C driver is looking to accomplish with the model. Driving styles and the terrain you plan to encounter will be deciding factors as well.
