Brushless Power - On board the monster truck is the brushless 1/8 scale motor that maintains a 2050 kv rating, capable of providing incredible speed and efficient power control. The motor is equipped with 4mm bullet connectors.
An aluminum motor mount is used to secure the motor.
An aluminum heat sink surrounds the motor to dissipate the heat.
The Brushless system can handle up to 6s LiPo for amazing speed and power, for dirt slinging RC action with superb jumping potential.
Extremely fun to drive on 4s and insane on 6s.

Chassis - The chassis plate is 3mm thick, and is hard anodized black aluminum, designed for the speed and durability required for the Arrma Kraton.
Composite Chassis braces are included for support and strength.
Drivetrain - The handling on the model is impressive. The steel shaft driven 4WD is built for heavy duty off-road action.
The gear differential is oil-filled with metal shielded bearings.
The durable Steering cranks and aluminum drag link plate are key components for the Kraton's handling characteristics. A couple of noticeable components, bronze bushings are used to support the cranks, and the steering arm is made of aluminum. Note: the toe is adjustable.
The steel spur gear is a must when handling the power from 6s.

Arrma Kraton Chassis

Suspension - the suspension type on the Arrma Kraton is A-Arm, there are a number of arm and tower locations for shock positioning.
The wheelbase and camber are also adjustable, with multiple link locations to handle roll.
Ride height is adjustable with preload collars.
Note: The suspension mounts take a beating from hard off road bashing, if you intend to push the limits you might consider upgrading to an aluminum block for extra durability.
Red aluminum 5mm thick shocks with black aluminum caps absorb the terrain really well, and include threaded preload spring collars.
The oil-filled shocks and spring combination are great when landing after launching off some incredible jumps, the shocks are held in place with pins and fastened with set screws.
Waterproof Electronics - A waterproof box houses the 2.4GHz ARX -100 receiver, to protect the unit from the elements and extreme conditions a specially designed gasket has been utilized.
Other sealed components include the electronic speed control and steering servo.
The electronics on board the model are ready for the elements if and when you choose to encounter them.

Great addition for your Traxxas model, setup was simple, the process was straight forward and took less than 5 min. to complete. I use the module to turn on the Training Mode for my 5 yr old son, although i plan to eventually install telemetry sensors.

Would be great if I could access drive effects without the Traxxas App crashing. I can access other areas just fine, its the drive effects page that is giving me problems.

Simple install into the TQi remote controller, I was able to connect instantly and see all of my sensors, Very Cool.

Plugged in and linked up without any issues, it did update firmware once I was connected, haven't had any problems, although I don't have any telemetry sensors, it does recognize the vehicle i am  driving, and allows me to tune and adjust my settings.

Final Thoughts
The Traxxas Link app may not be beneficial to every RC driver, but to those who take the racing action seriously the App and module provide numerous features that can give you an edge over the competition.

Downside

Flight Modes and Features
There are two available flight modes on the Mini Drone, whether your a beginner or advanced pilot you have the opportunity to choose the features you need in order to fly the way you desire.
Auto Take Off and Landing - with a push of  a button you can take off or land automatically. On the top left side of the controller you will find the button labeled for this feature. The quad will lift off the ground about 3 ft into a hover position.
Altitude Hold - with this feature you can focus on the target you intend to capture,  via video or still image, the HoverShot Mini Drone will hover in place until you decide its time to move on.
Flip Feature - The HoverShot is capable of performing flips. To Flip the model simply press in on the left stick, then push the right stick in the direction you  want to flip, then release both sticks so your ready for your next move after the flip.
Transmitter MR101- The controller features interference - free flying with 2.4GHz technology.
One thing that I like is the clearly labeled feature buttons, including the separate video and camera buttons.
The transmitter also features a holding device for your mobile device
Dual Rates - this feature is good especially for beginners, you can keep your rates low while your learning to fly, as you enhance your skills you can increase the rates for a more agile flight.
The sensitivity rate of the controls can be adjusted manually.
Low Voltage Warnings - As your battery loses voltage during flight and gets near its low point, the LED's on the HoverShot will begin to flash. After 30 seconds the drone will begin to land automatically.
When your transmitter batteries get to a critical low point, your transmitter will beep 5 times rapidly to let you know the batteries need to be changed.
Note: Flight time ranges from about 7 to 10 minutes.




Camera - The camera onboard the HoverShot Mini Drone is capable of capturing video or still images.
The camera lens can be adjusted manually from a level standpoint down to a 45 degree angle.
The included memory card is easy to insert on the left side of the quadcopter body.
Droneview App - the app can be downloaded free from Apple Store or Google Play and can be used on your wifi capable apple devices or android.

Latrax 370 Brushed Motor - The 370 motor with 28 turns is capable of speeds around 17mph on the stock 5 cell  6 volt NiMH battery with iD.  Speeds up to 20 mph can be reached with an optional 6 cell 7.2 volt  battery.

Chassis and Drive Train Components
The chassis base is molded plastic and includes a foam front bumper to absorb any punishment.
For control and traction on multiple surfaces the Latrax Rally all-wheel drive system was implemented into the design. A center mounted steel driveshaft transfers the power to the front and rear differentials. A gear differential design balances power delivery to the wheels, improving acceleration and enhances cornering.
The tires are slick, molded with a soft rubber compound, providing fun on a variety of surfaces, a good mix for drifting through the corners while gripping ground in the straight aways.
The tires are pre-glued onto 12 spoke rally wheels.

The suspension is fully independent and maintains the balance of the model, as each wheel individually absorbs its own impacts from the surface of the road.
A couple of downsides to the model, the shocks on the model are not oil filled. Although they can be upgraded and it is not expensive to do so.
Also bushings were used instead of bearings. They also can be upgraded at minimal cost.
When it comes to steering and control , two bellcranks are utilized on the Latrax Rally to increase servo speed and provide the proper steering angle for the front wheels.

To achieve the best response while turning, the inside front wheel turns sharper than the outside front wheel.
Weatherproof Electronics- The Electronics on board are sealed from the elements, meaning they are water resistant more than waterproof. The model is safe to drive in wet environments should you choose to do so.
The steering servo and the 3 channel micro receiver are weather sealed. The receiver is sealed in a watertight receiver box, it is also protected by the Lifetime Electronics Warranty from Traxxas.
Body & Graphics - The pre-assembled model arrives with pre-installed graphics, the design features an aggressive look. The molded body material absorbs impacts to maintain its shape and distinctive  look, while sporting its lowered stance.

Love the car, setup my own drift course for it. Recommend upgrading to metal gears though.
Great little car, hard to work on small parts if you have big hands, needs a real charger instead of the car charger it comes with.
It is so much fun, I drive it as hard as my other rc vehicles, have not broken it yet, run it about 3 times a week.
Fast and responsive RC car. After 5 days of using it, lost half of its speed, we confirmed it had nothing to do with the battery.

Got mine as a Christmas gift, it is a nice charger, the price is reasonable, the support from Traxxas and the warranty are great.
I have nothing but good to say about it thus far, it is easy to operate. I have (2)  5000mah 3s LiPo's and the Traxxas EZ Plus Charger, charged them to 5000 mah exactly.
Had mine for a few months now, good quality and works well. I don't understand complaints about noise, it is not that loud. Charges my stock battery in about 30 minutes.
Need an affordable charger, get this one. I use it for my 3s LiPo and 7 cell NiMH batteries. The fan is nice,
charge time varies depending on the battery, usually charges my LiPo within an hour.

Final Comments
The Traxxas EZ Peak Charger for the most part has received high marks from most users. Like anything it does have a few disadvantages. If you are a beginner looking for a charger I feel this is a good choice.

To achieve 50 + MPH speeds Traxxas mounted the TRX 2.5 Engine onto the Rustler chassis. The engine features a hand held push button electric EZ start system.
The nitro engine received high marks from RC Nitro Magazine, " the TRX 2.5 blows away every other small block engine we ever tested ".
A two needle slide carburetor with trick porting and a free flowing rear exhaust system contribute to the horsepower needed to pull off wheelies on demand.
Important Note: If the engine is broken in and tuned correctly the engine is capable of creating an enormous amount of horsepower. I cannot stress this enough,  break-in is extremely important for performance, reliability, and longevity of the engine.

Rustler Chassis and Drivetrain
The top or upper portion of the chassis is a rigid fiber composite material, the lower portion of the chassis is constructed with T6 aluminum.
To prevent drag and robbing the Traxxas Nitro Rustler of its potential speed, countersunk screw hole were drilled through the chassis.
To draw additional heat away from the engine a blue anodized aluminum chassis was utilized, and it also acts as a heat sink to keep engine temperatures down.

Transmission
The Magnum 281 transmission has been proven and tested, the 3 gear design was integrated for performance.
The single speed transmission has 32 pitch gears, with the top gear being metal, and sports precision ball bearings throughout.
Gear Differential
This planetary differential requires very little if any maintenance, it is very efficient with hardened internal steer gears for extra strength for serious off-road driving.
Slipper Clutch
The adjustable slipper clutch on the Traxxas Nitro Rustler can be tweaked to control the energy output to the rear wheels, this increases traction control on a variety of terrains and surfaces.
It helps protect the transmission from hard impacts and landings while jumping.
Oil Filled Shocks
The tunable oil-filled shocks provide smooth performance, they are sealed with x-ring technology to prevent leaking. The shocks can be tuned with a variety of oil viscosities, pistons, and springs.
Separating oil from are is accomplished with pressure bladders.
To adjust ride height and spring load, springs clips were utilized.
These ultra shocks can be rebuilt with inexpensive shock kits.
Radio Control with Traxxas Stability Management (TSM)
The Traxxas Nitro Rustler comes with the latest in Radio Control and Stability.
The TQi 2 channel Radio is packed with features giving the drivers the ability to precisely tune their models for maximum performance. The TQi system can be linked up with your mobile devices with an optional Traxxas Link Wireless Module, (Sold Seperately) for use as a tuning tool.
When it comes to keeping your model under control, especially on slick surfaces Traxxas includes the TSM feature on many of its models.
The TSM system is designed to sense the models direction, make steering adjustments, to keep the model on its current path, without loss of control, spinouts, or fishtailing.
While cornering your model, TSM makes corrections to maintain the vehicles point of direction, and allows you to accelerate earlier in the corner, increasing exit speed.
TSM also assists with braking, keeping you model straight until it comes to a complete stop.

Comments from Nitro Traxxas Rustler Owners
(1)-My first nitro RC car, this thing is awesome, highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.
I do recommend replacing stock caster blocks with aluminum ones, the stock one's don't hold up to well, especially if you run hard and do a lot of jumping.
(2)The best nitro car for the money. Stock out of the box this car is very fast. The EZ start system is one of the best features on Traxxas Nitro's , although some complain about it, I still believe compared to other options it is the best choice, no pull starter cords to break, no glow ignitor needed.
(3) Got it for my Birthday.  Nice Car ! Everything you need but the nitro fuel, I might add the cars idle is set way to high so be ready to tune and adjust.
(4) My first nitro vehicle was the nitro traxxas rustler, still use it to this day, it has its weak points, but overall it is a good beginner nitro model, always started up pretty good and ran well. One thing I didn't like, unless you were in loose terrain, it would flip over rather easily, other than that it is fun for sure. And by the way, it will not go 50+MPH on the stock gearing.
(5)The Rustler is great for beginners, super easy to work on, can handle some serious abuse with just a few upgrades. The only thing I break are shock shafts and blowing shock caps off.
I have RPM bumper and shock towers, if someone is looking at the nitro sport, just pay the difference and get the rustler, its a much better car for the price difference.
